Description

THE BLUE HERON HIDEAWAY: This studio apartment was completely renovated and decorated at the end of 2021 with an eye towards intimate luxury. On the ground floor the studio has a private porch that looks out over the turtle pond, protected dunes & wetlands and private walkway to quiet North Beach. The porch offers a plethora of comfortable seating and an outdoor shower for those hot, sandy returns from beachcombing. For nature lovers, this is a private gem where you'll spot birds and critters of all types.

The interior has a king size bed with high quality linens, lots of storage, a smart TV, dining table & chairs.

The kitchenette may be small but it is outfitted with top of the line amenities like the granite countertop, a Cuisinart convection toaster oven, a Nespresso coffee machine & a double burner stove. All the dishes and cookware you need to cook a meal are here and your dining table has window views of the pond.

The brand spanking new bathroom has a lovely tiled shower with waterfall shower head and awesome lighting. Fluffy towels and plenty of storage at your finger tips.

THIS STUDIO IS A STAR!

NOTE: The owners reside in the upstairs levels of this townhouse and they do have 3 elderly and well behaved dogs.

PARKING: Maximum of 1 car allowed. Parking is private driveway with excellent lighting around the exterior. NO street parking is allowed.

OCCUPANCY: Maximum of 2 people, including infants, at any given time. If more than 2 people are seen at the property, this will result in immediate eviction with no refunds.
This stipulation is mandated by City of Tybee Island fire codes and STVR ordinances.

Minimum age to reserve is 25 years old, no exceptions.

PETS: We are pet friendly with MAX of 1 housebroken pet under 85 pounds. No exceptions. $50 non-refundable Pet Fee. Be aware that NO PETS are allowed on Tybee beaches or dunes. There are very expensive fines for violators.

NOISE:
This property is NOT PARTY friendly. We do not allow loud noise, music, public drunkenness, or parties of any sort. This is a family oriented neighborhood. Violators may be evicted and/or fined.
The City of Tybee Noise Ordinance requires strict observance of QUIET TIME between 10 pm and 7 am. Tybee Island Police and the neighborhood strictly enforces this. The individual violators (not the property owner) can be fined by the City.

Once reserved you will receive emails from Luxury Living Savannah and/or Escapia, with all of your guest information. Please check your spam/junk folders.

Cancellations:
If you reserve & cancel AFTER we have processed the reservation, we will NOT refund the credit card processing fee. We use a 3rd party credit card processing company & they do NOT refund these fees to us if a guest cancels.
You will also be charged a $50 cancellation fee PLUS the credit card processing fee.
This is regardless of VRBO’s policy.

Fantastic! Loved the yard with the pond. So much wildlife (turtles, birds, and more). Walk way to section of beach that was less crowded. Saw dolphins daily as well as crabs( hermit, horseshoe, blue and ghost), and sting rays. The location was perfect for us. Everything we wanted was with in biking or walking distance.

Also tons of frogs singing at night (although you can't hear them in the room. With door and windows shut). Comfortable bed. Everything very clean. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and unwind, this is it!

This is an adorable downstairs studio/efficiency in a lovely condo complex on the north end of Tybee Island where it is quieter, and more laid back. The unit was clean, the furnishings are top-notch, and as a female traveling alone, I felt completely safe. The covered patio overlooking the pond is also very pleasant. I will say that, while the unit is advertised as good for two people, I feel that it would be a little tight. The bed is certainly big enough, but I couldn't imagine spending a whole week there with another person. Drawer space is ample but there are no real places to store luggage, etc.. The fridge is dorm-style at best and needed serious defrosting. My food was not kept cold enough and had to be thrown out. There is NO counter space where the toaster oven, cooktop and small sink are located, so cooking anything in the way of meals for two people is truly unrealistic. At best, you can make toast, fry an egg, etc.... Cooking a meal with no counter space and limited dishware just wouldn't make sense. No coffee maker, just a one-cup-at-a-time Keurig-type machine. So, depending on your preferences, this may be an ideal place for one person for a few days, but not for two people for an entire week.

This was a beautiful apartment. It was beautifully decorated, had everything you needed for a short stay. The location was quiet and we enjoyed the pond with the turtles, saw an alligator there also. There was a nice sitting area to have coffee or drinks and enjoy the scenery. There were a couple of places within walking distance to eat. Bikes would have been nice to have. The Beachfront restaurants and sights charge for parking which we did not realize until we got there. Pretty steep prices- $4 per hour with a 2 hr minimum. Eating over the bridge is probably a better choice except for Huc a Poos. They have great prices and free parking and we could have walked there if we had known how close they were. Easy walk to the beach. Everyone was friendly. It is an easy drive into Savannah for sight seeing. Beautiful city! May return one day. Loved the marsh scenery!

We enjoyed our stay and the location was convenient to the things we wanted to do. Only suggestion I would have would be to find a way to better secure the door that goes from the rental to Im guessing the garage space. When we were in our room and someone would take the dogs out, the connecting door would make a lot of noise. First time I heard it, it sounded like someone was coming into our room.

Walking south along the beach you are in the water at times until you round the north end. A quiet area. The property owner lives above the rental unit and was friendly. A little noise from people walking above, but you get that in some hotels. A marvelous place to stay.

We loved our stay at the Blue Heron Hideaway. It was just right for a relaxing vacation for 2 plus our pup. We could watch the sunset from the patio and walk over to the turtle pond when they came up to feed in the evening.

The studio apartment stayed nice and cool in the heat of the summer. We had just enough space to cook a small breakfast every morning and it was within walking distance to the Monday farmer's market and a nice dog park. We liked having access to a quiet area of the beach with very few people compared to the other areas. There were a ton of dolphins to watch - just be careful of jellyfish on this end of the island.

We had a wonderful time. Great location. great beach access. Location put you right on the delta of the Savannah as it feeds into the Atlantic Ocean. We saw dolphins every day, and the boardwalk that you cross over is a great turtle and bird sanctuary area. You won't regret your stay there. The room is very accommodating, including a small kitchenette. Just be ready for awesome sunsets.

The studio was decorated beautifully. Everything as shown in pictures. Pod of dolphins directly out on beach morning, noon and night. Few things to note - walk to beach not the easiest. Would love to rent for my parents to visit but they could never do that walk. The shower is small and with rain head oddly hard to shampoo/condition. Induction stove and appliances nice but no where to prep or store food so not sure it all makes sense. All minor things compared to whole experience. Had a wonderful, relaxing time.

The basement studio was lovely, new, clean and served our purpose. Enjoyed the outdoor shower and the nice stroll across the boardwalk over the turtle pond to the beach. The beach was beautiful and quite. The location was perfect.

We really enjoyed our stay. Very close to the beach. When we weren’t at the beach, we had a great view from the patio of the palm trees swaying. Very relaxing. Immaculate property. Enjoyed the Nespresso coffee maker.

This studio was clean and well decorated. The bed slept well and the neighborhood is nice. The turtle pond is wonderful. The owner lives upstairs and has three dogs. You can hear the dogs in the middle of the night but it isn't that bad.

Cute space, great location to walk to beach and bike around to other areas. You can definitely hear residents above walking around/talking. Didn't bother us too much since I had a sound machine going at night but something to be aware of.

We had a fantastic stay. This was the perfect peaceful getaway location for my husband and myself. This rental was so clean and fresh and inviting. We loved every minute of our stay and hope to come back soon!!! Don’t forget to go check out the turtles!!!
