Beaches

Enjoy some laid back beach vibes on Tybee Island. Tybee Island offers three miles of shorelines and five beaches: South Beach, Mid Beach, Little Tybee, North Beach, and Back River Beach. South Beach is perhaps the most popular with plenty of nearby restaurants and bars as well as Tybee Pier.

 

Food

Tybee Island offers lots of dining with amazing seaside views and patio seating. Fresh-caught seafood is the specialty and there’s plenty of incredible restaurants to sample all summer long.  Popular restaurants include Crab Shack, Ray’s Seafood, and The Deck Beachbar & Kitchen.

 

Tybee Island Light Station

The lighthouse has been shining its light and guiding the way for over 270 years. It is Georgia’s oldest and tallest lighthouse, and one of the most intact and historic lighthouses in America. For history buffs, another great destination is the Fort Pulaski National Monument, which preserves Fort Pulaski.

 

Dolphin Tours

You may not know this but Tybee Island is home to bottlenose dolphins. Several dolphin tours are available that offer up close views and sunset cruises. There are also Kayak tours to explore the coast for yourself.

 

Bird Watching

Bird Watchers from around the world head to the North Beach Birding Trail. North Beach is a great spot to see sandpipers, plovers, and other unique seabirds. Also, located on North Beach is the Tybee Island Marine Science Center. The science center has touch tanks and other natural exhibits.

 

Tybee Island Farmers Market

Running from March 14 to October 2022, the Tybee Island Farmers Market is a summer treat. Located behind the historic Tybee Island Lighthouse every Monday, the Farmers Market offers great food, produce, and local art.
