This surprise blending of original 1920 - 1940 deco furnishings and many antique elements creates a fun, casual ambiance for the historic Wedding Cake Mansion Carriage House. This freestanding structure has its own private entrance off the lane plus highly coveted garage parking. Its unusual design is evocative of a “Manhattan loft” set in a historic 1869 carriage house. An open and airy large living space showcases an entire wall of frosted artist windows and floods the house with natural light.

Many of the antique pieces in the carriage house were reworked to provide one-of-a-kind creations, such as the rewired antique chandelier that originally only housed candles. The dining table was fashioned out of an 1860’s base and a 1910 Georgia farmhouse tabletop. And, in another creative twist, the bedroom features a king-sized mirrored headboard made from doors off of a vintage china cabinet.

A 6-foot whirlpool air tub and glass-enclosed shower provide expected 21st Century luxuries while a 100-year-old English library table that was converted to house a contemporary vessel sink and an old linen cabinet original to the Carriage House creates a vintage twist. A fully outfitted gourmet kitchen showcases stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. The unusual kitchen cabinetry color was custom blended to further create another unexpected feature.
